Unfold introduces En Passant
Eddy Royal
Unfold, a social change platform promoting wellbeing for young people in South Auckland, reached out to En Passant after seeing his performance in a video from Stand Up Stand Out Auckland. With Unfold, En Passant had the opportunity to write an original song exploring the theme of ‘self-identity’, that was recorded in a studio and made into a music video, enriching his creative vision with professional expertise and resources.
Despite having an introverted nature, En Passant is ready to share his passion with the world. “To Be Seen” is more than just a song— it’s an anthem to the transformative power of creativity and self-expression. As he puts it in his lyrics:
“From playing a Casio keyboard alone to performing in front of a crowd of more than one,
Doing what I love for fun, bringing people joy with the way that I play,
Knowing deep down that maybe people gave a damn about what I say”
Unfold’s collaboration with En Passant underscores their commitment to supporting rangatahi in South Auckland by providing opportunities for taiohi to tell their stories in their own ways.
